Admission
to Charleston Cosmetology Institute is open to all without regard to
race, color, sex, or national origin.
Individuals
wishing to enroll in Cosmetology, Manicuring/Nail Art Technology, or
Esthetics must fulfill the following requirements:

Must
be at least 16 years of age.

Furnish proof of education - High School Diploma, GED, or official
transcript.
Admission
requirements to the Teacher Training Program are as following:
-
Hold
a current South Carolina cosmetology, manicuring, or esthetics license.

Hold
a High School Diploma or a GED.
-
Complete
45 hours training in a Teaching Methods course approved by the State
Board.
{Applicants may enroll in the program prior
to the completion of the methods course but must complete the methods
course by the end of the 750 hours of training.}

Pass
the Instructor's written examination with a score of 80% or better.
{Applicants must first complete the methods course before being allowed
to sit for the written examination.}

An
application completed and signed by the student instructor and the
school shall be filed with the State Board before entering the training
program.
All
applicants must complete an
official school enrollment application and schedule an interview with
the school administrator.

Day Cosmetology and Manicuring / Nail Art Technology classes begin six
times a year:

March, May, July, September, and November
Evening Cosmetology classes begin six times a year:

February,
April, June, August, October, and December
Day Esthetics Classes begin three times per year:
